Use Case => new aircraft category

We have all the pricing set for airplanes, but want to add a new special pricing for helicopters.

Create the new article

Open the page: "Setup" => "Articles" => "Create a new Article"

image

After saving the new article, some fields appear under, letting define for which kind of aircraft this article is valid:

As we are defining it valid for heli only, then all other landing articles must be the reverse, for example:

Pricing

Once the new article is created and the old articles are set to not be used for helicopters, we can proceed to the pricing itself: "Finance" => "Landing Pricing"

The price grid shall have a new set of fields for the newly created article: image

Set the price for all cells, and press "Save"

Link this article

The system will still not use this article unless it's linked to the flight activity type. "Setup" => "Flight Activity Type"

This page contains all the activities setup for your instance. Let's choose for example "Private flight", scroll down near the end of the page, and you shall see already some articles linked to your flight activity type, add the newly created article (Heli Landing in this example) and make sure the correct account plan / vat type is selected.

You will have to repeat this step for each flight activity type you want to support for this article.

Test

To ensure all is setup correctly, a testing page can be used: "Finance" => "Simulate Movement" Type in an helicopter call sign (for example HB-ZUE) and you shall see an "Heli Landing": image

In case you use an aircraft: image

If this works, then your are all good and you correctly setup your system. You should ideally test this for the different "Flight Types" to ensure you did not miss any link.

Note

Make sure your article definition contains all the place holders required / wished. The place holders are in the form of {Something} where "Something" will be replaced in the bill with the corrisponding text. The list of place holders is descibed in the online help under "Articles". Usually customers use the following description for a landing: Landing {Weight} - {Noise} - {Aircraft} {Comment}
